Oh please. I see people with the Confederate Flags on the back of their pick up trucks still today. Wasn't the Confederacy a group of slave-trading terrorists who decided to secede from the US and go to war against America?
It's funny how the same group of folks who supports "God bless America" also supports a flag of terrorism (I meant a flag of "history", not hate).
Anyway, those who protests the National Anthem are doing so in the name of the constitution's original ideology; FREEDOM AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!!! This country was built on standing up and fighting oppression, whether the threat of oppression is foreign or domestic.
The day when we can't stand together in protests against human rights issues is the day that we're no longer the REAL US. We are one of the few countries on Earth where cops must read you your rights. Such a thing is unheard of in most places. What rights does a dead suspect have? What jury verdict does a dead suspect get? This is a serious issue, because if cops can kill a non-threatening suspect without allowing justice to play-out; rights are being violated.
Also, the fact that blacks are getting the bullet 2.5 times more often than white perps is very disturbing. Police aggression towards black males is well documented; it's no longer some myth. Now it's time to protest this problem until it is fixed.

Is the only to identify with the justness of the war in Iraq what George bush thought about it?
this would only be a story if UNC students and fans didn't protest during the national anthen, given the reputatation of the college. it is amazing how so many people take the law and order and peace that we enjoy for granted, and it doesn't come without police. all of their examples of police brutality have been shown not be.
