Since a judge has stayed the implementation of HB2 against UNC-Chapel Hill by the 3 affected plaintiffs, someone felt the pressure was off. HB2 apparently still affects the UNC School of the Arts and UNC-Greensboro. It is not clear what those institutions are supposed to do.

The trail has been postponed until May 2017. By that time, it may have become a non-issue with a new governor, and the students may have graduated and moved on.
