Since Republicans took control of the state legislature for the first time in over a century in 2010, North Carolina legislators and Gov. Pat McCrory (R), who was elected in 2012, have enacted a collection of policy reforms that is more impressive from a free market and limited government standpoint than what any other state accomplished during that time, with the arguable exception of Wisconsin.'
Except for businesses that won't touch NC with a 10 foot pole now, due almost entirely to HB2.

you are completely wrong about that. Most businesses have no problem with that bill. And businesses don't make business decisons based on social issue legislation. The goal is to make money.

And they don't make as much money when they're viewed as being on the wrong side of an issue, or condoning discrimination. It's more profitable to be inclusionary rather than not.

they aren't on the wrong side of the issue. they are on the majority side of the issue, the women's right side of the issue.

You just assume you are in the majority on the issue.

you can't discriminate against 'transgenders' given a man cannot become a woman. No man has ever had a uterus, ovaries, menstrual cycle, became pregnant and gave birth to a kid, etc.

It is like saying that it is discriminatory if society does not pander to an anorexic person's false belief that they are fat.

it doesn't make sense that companies are going to avoid moving into NC if there is money to be made there, simply because a Bruce Jenner cannot use the bathroom next to a female or little girl. that is not going to be a hill to die on for most businesses.

it wouldn't be responsible to your employees or shareholders to choose to give up money over this minor issue.

I don't care about the majority, I care about being right. Rights are there to protect the minority against the majority. Otherwise it's called mob rule.

In 30 years, people will look back on this and laugh at what a bunch of bumpkins people were for fighting over this. Kind of like how you look back on people who fought for segregation in the 50s and 60s.

ok i think trying to tie the 'transgenders' in the bathroom thing to what black people went through back in the day is incredible and rather offensive to what those people went through. I'm not going to continue talking about it.

it isn't realistic to believe businesses will turn down business opportunities and profits in a state because of a state's bathroom policy that affects 0.1 percent of the population.

how many states currently allow 'transgenders' in opposite sex bathroom anyway.

What you list doesn't show is all the business people who are ok with the bill and oppose transgenders in female bathrooms. They didn't feel the need to advertise their position. A vocal minority is still a minority.

if i am not mistaken, i believe NC's bill allows businesses to set their own bathroom policy so why would a business have a problem with that. That makes no sense.

Fine, the wrong side of women's rights in the 20s and 30s and beyond. The wrong side of the slavery issue in the 1800s. The wrong side of every social issue that we now look back on and wonder "Why the hell were they being so ridiculous and ignorant". That'll be how all this gets looked upon in the future.

you are on the wrong side of womens rights on this issue but trying to use womens rights as your prop.

A lot of women and little girls are not comfortable with men being in their restrooms and locker rooms, and you simply don't care. The GOP is listening to the women.

I hope they have a voter referendum on this issue. That is going to put it to bed for a long time if not forever.

btw, many black people oppose 'transgenders' in female restrooms and I would argue a huge majority do.

Thread under review, and maybe closed as I have allowed oodles of threads since March to discuss transgender which is debatable of it being discussed in North Carolina thread when a lot of it not related to HB2.

However, I'll deal with those threads if needs arrive.
This thread is related to the Governor and his policies and term.
IF this thread reopens let us make sure your post is related to Governor McCrory

Actually, any thread in the NC forums, before posting make sure it relates to the Original Post.

Now I want to address my appreciation for the very civil discussion taking place in this forum. Thank You, I appreciate it a lot.
I also appreciate the lack of posting copyrighted text and images as of late.
That means a lot, now the only goal but lol I been dealing with this issue for 9 years is the total abandonment of the original post.
If this thread is salvageable meaning very little off topic removal, it will reopen, but for now, its closed.
