I am licensed here in Maine, and really need to get out of here. I had to do 1500 hours here. I know its the same in Florida, as I got licensed there as well.
Does anyone know what is involved in getting a license in NC?

NC State Board of Cosmetic Art Examiners (http://www.cosmetology.state.nc.us/ - broken link)

According to the website it is 1500 in NC as well. You may be eligible for reciprocity.
Quote:
If you currently hold a cosmetologist, manicurist, esthetician, and/or teacher license in another state you may be eligible for a North Carolina license:

To be eligible for a North Carolina license:

You must hold a current license in the United States

You must have taken state board approved or national examination to obtain your license

You must be in good standing with no disciplinary action against your license.

To apply, contact the state board in which you are licensed and ask them to mail a letter of certification to NC State Board of Cosmetic Art, 1201 Front Street, Suite 110, Raleigh, NC 27609. The letter must include the following information:

1. Name of licensee
2. Current address of licensee
3. Social Security Number
4. Expiration date of license
5. Sanctions or other disciplinary actions
6. Verification of a passed state board approved or national examination
