Impressive!!! It's hard to believe that Clt is now the Nation's 8th busiest Airport.

Home of the worlds 4th largest airline hub. I'm an airline geek so I'm thrilled I live so close to a major airport to watch the planes.

In other news, Skyhouse II officially broke ground today.

So that brings up the total for under construction high rises uptown over 20 floors right now:

- 43 floor apartment Museum Tower
- 33 floor apartment Element
- 27 Floor Office 300 South Tryon
- 20 floor office 500 South College
- 25 floor SkyHouse II

The next to break ground this quarter are:

36 floor office tower Tryon Place
~23 floor Tryon Place Hotel
20 Floor WholeFoods/Stonewall Crescent

And also anytime now 25 floor hotel AC Hotel/Springhill. The delay may be due to a change in brands since another Marriott Springhill is close by.

The tallest of the bunch will be Tryon Place which could be the tallest building outside of Charlotte. If not, the antenna of RBC in Raleigh will barely match it (for Height references)

Topgolf rezoning approved

Topgolf is coming to Charlotte.
Charlotte City Council has approved a rezoning request by developer American Asset Corp. in order to bring Topgolf International Inc. to a 15-acre site at West Arrowood Road and Interstate 485 for its first golf entertainment complex in Charlotte.

Good to here. Topgolf was interested in building a golf entertainment complex at the Cary Towne Center, but the residents of the nearby neighborhood opposed the idea due to possible noise, blue light illuminating in the backyard, and possibly paying higher property taxes. So the mall officials decided not to go forward with the plan. Me personally, I think that bringing Topgolf to the Cary Town Center was a good idea. Plus, the Triangle needs more entertainment complexes in the area. Luckily, the company is still interested in building the golf entertainment complex in Cary.
