OP, I love pasties but have never seen them in NC. My mother in law introduced me to them and taught me to make them. Sorry guess not many welsh or cornishmen came to NC back in the day
My house? Sorry, I make them but haven't seen them in the stores for years. There used to be a store in Durham that stocked them from an ex-pt who had a business in FL. But no longer. You may be able to find an on line US based, Brit foods co that will ship them to you. There are a couple out there. I've been here so long I no longer crave Brit food and so don't seek it out anymore. Well, that is except for the chocolates and toffees
I've been here 12 years now but every now and again I get a craving for something. Mostly fish and chips or a nice doner kebab. For some reason though a warm pasty with the mushy beef and potatoes sounds good.
I wonder if we could convince one of the local bakeries to have a crack at some of these things...they might just be a success, with all the ex-pat Poms around here.

I recently attended a Bonfire Night party and someone brought sausage rolls. I think they ordered them on line and paid a fortune for them
