Love for the locals and newcomers to this state to share what they have experience in North Carolina and Southern dishes. If you find it a certain restaurant feel free to share that as well.

I am sucker for the following in a meal.

Served with good sweet tea.

Country Fried Steak covered in white gravy.

Green beans seasoned with a hog hock.

Turnip Greens also seasoned with hog hock.

Sweet Potatoe.

Cornbread.

with a Butter Milk Pie.

Are these dishes made at home or can a person go out and order them? Our kitchen is still being remodeled (3 months of eating out..ugh). No, the kitchen isn't taking that long we just have been remodelong each room and now we're on the kitchen which was not usable to begin with. These dishes all sound so yummy! I'd love to find a good place to try them. Sorry, don't mean to get off the original thread--just curious!
