That is 100% not the case. They foreclose all the time on homes with mortgages. It doesn't get rid of the mortgage but it gives them leverage with the homeowner.

Do you actually think the HOA calls up the mortgage company to ask if someone's current and the mortgage company pays someone to take those calls?

Unhappy so how do you fight abusive hoas

are we all at the mercy of hoa's. I bought a new house that has set empty for 2 years. The builder did nothing to the property as soon as we moved in he started sending us letters to fix this problem or that problem which was caused by him, he's in charge of the hoa, and his little minnions take pictures of my house on a weekly basis, he tells me what my family can and cannot do, we arent allowed to let the kids out of the yard in the community, he started fining me the first week, he told me I have to fix the errossion problem on my property within 14 days, and he has been fining me ever since. All the water from the complex in routed into my propery and it is causing this problem. what do I do now. They told me I couldn't park my old truck down at the end of my driveway, although it is legally registered and plated, but it was okay for my newer car to be parked there. he was mad when we bought the house, he didnt get enough for it, but he accepted the offer so he has been harrassing us since day one thru the hoa that he controls , so he can take the house back, I thought I bought in a nice place but I guess not, theres no ability to fight them

First, you don't know that moving would solve the problem. Second, it must be nice to be as rich as you where you can just pull up roots and move just like that. For a lot of people that's a real chore.

Moving absolutely solves the problem. You move from a neighborhood with an HOA to one that doesn't have an HOA. Problem solved. Yea moving has some costs associated with it just like everything else in life but you certainly don't have to be rich to move. Obviously if they had enough money to move IN they can probably afford to move OUT.

I have an issue presently with my HOA regarding parking. They gave me a fine for a car parked in front of my house that was not mine. Nor do I have any idea to whom this car belongs and neither do they. Nor have I seen any car parked in front of my house. My neighbors and I were talking and they showed me a ticket sent to them that had the exact same license plate number. I smell a rat!

You were fined without notice of a hearing?

No. Rain barrels have gotten in trouble some local residents.
