Part of the grossness of it is that there's also usually disgusting smacking noises made when trying to talk with your mouth full. Talk-smack-smack-talk-smack-smack...
Had lunch today with a small group. New version of talking with food in their mouth.
This guy not only stored it in his cheek while he talked. He would take brief breaks while he talked and get some out of that cache in his cheek, chew it while talking, swallow and start over.
When I was a kid, we were forbidden to talk with food in our mouths. I personally find it gross to watch someone slosh food in the their mouth and insist on talking to me. Either stop eating and talk, or eat and then swallow, then talk.
It is gross. Also bad manners. I've only seen someone do this once, I was on a date at some expensive restaurant. I'll probably get cautioned again LOL if I mention where the guy was from. It was embarrassing and gross. He may have even spit food on me a few times. Maybe it was cultural, but I was totally disgusted.
Its just plain rude and yet somehow wait staff always seem to choose the moment you have just taken a bite to ask if you are enjoying your meal.
Not only do people talking with a mouth full of food annoy me but its usually those who *** on and on and won't let others get a word in edgeways. They are also usually the first to finish their meal because while they were busy cramming their mouths full and yakking on others were taking mouthfuls between conversing. All in all a total lack of table manners.
I knew someone who did this. He was an executive chauffeur with a major media company - he called it the "Chauffeur's Chew".
