I have a buddy who I made friends with when I was in school. We keep in touch on Facebook and I wanna plan something for us to hang out on New Years Eve. We tell each other everything that's new with us on Facebook and if we plan something to hang out, I think it would be awkward when we won't have anything to say to each other.

What are some good ideas for 2 (straight, because I know some of you will be asking) guys to do on New Years Eve that won't feel awkward without alot of talking? I also want to do this because I never got to do anything out with friends on New Years Eve and I thought maybe this could be a good start.

My husband used to go out with his cousin and shoot pool at a bowling alley or a bar almost every weekend. I think you will discover that you will still have things to talk about once you get past the initial meeting.

I know other male friends of mine like to get with their buddies and go to a gun range and shoot or go to a paintball place. This time of the year maybe skiing is an option if that is available where you live. You could even go see a movie you are both interested in and it not be weird and then you really would npt have to talk.

Not enough information given to respond.
Do you live in a large city, a mid-size city, a university town with the usual offerings, a small city, or a rural area? Do you and buddy drink? Do you like wine and cheese or craft beer and sausages or something else? Are you foodies? Would movie or theatre and a dinner work, or are you seeking something more down home and sensual, like a casino and a strip show? Are you into spectator sports or participatory activities or nature/outdoor activities? Do you like cultural activities like museums and art gatherings? Do you have access to all or any or some or none of these? What is your budget?

Las Vegas or any casino for that matter. Lots of bells and whistles going off 24/7, fun at midnight, and free soda pop and reasonable drinks. Most have restaurants including sports bars too.

That was going to be my answer. Find one with loud live music and enjoy. There can not be too many conversations with a good loud band.
