Some people are just stupid that way Tas. Some people are skilled both at giving and receiving...some, not so much.

You offer to do something, for repayment of favor. They get all proud....(or whatever ) and refuse your offer of kindness. I don't know...is it because it makes them look less generous? They say, "No, no! That's what neighbors are for!!"....but what they really mean is, "You just haven't made me an offer I can't refuse, yet!" or "You have to GUILT me into accepting a payback!" or...even worse, "They refuse a payback, because they want to have something to hold over your head in the future."

Hopefully, this will be resolved soon, because......AWKWARD!

I agree completely. If I lent someone my car for a two mile trip, I would not want or expect any payback. However, I would expect her to do the same for me if I needed a car to drive or a ride. So every time one does someone a small favor, they are supposed to thank them with dinner or flowers?? That is just plain stupid. They need to learn what friendship is really all about.
