Hahaha....just imagine! LMAO Oh my gosh, nothing like setting yourself up to earn the Craziest Lady in the Neighborhood award. Oh crap! The possibilities are endless. Okay....damn it, I gotta get busy!
The OP offered to pay her back in kind, with dinner, lunch and she refused and is now talking about it on a public forum? This is so petty and stupid, just ignore her

Some people are just stupid that way Tas. Some people are skilled both at giving and receiving...some, not so much.
You offer to do something, for repayment of favor. They get all proud....(or whatever ) and refuse your offer of kindness. I don't know...is it because it makes them look less generous? They say, "No, no! That's what neighbors are for!!"....but what they really mean is, "You just haven't made me an offer I can't refuse, yet!" or "You have to GUILT me into accepting a payback!" or...even worse, "They refuse a payback, because they want to have something to hold over your head in the future."
Hopefully, this will be resolved soon, because......AWKWARD!
If the favor she did for you was so minor, ignore her. I thought you must have driven the van to Dallas.
Loaning somebody a vehicle for 2 mile trip is insignificant. Ignore her. She must be an idiot if she thinks she can do a jr. high mean girl thing and you will not know about it. Get her a gift card to rub it in, and then write her off.
I agree completely. If I lent someone my car for a two mile trip, I would not want or expect any payback. However, I would expect her to do the same for me if I needed a car to drive or a ride. So every time one does someone a small favor, they are supposed to thank them with dinner or flowers?? That is just plain stupid. They need to learn what friendship is really all about.
