Not surprised my % is high compared to others. Rec drug use in New Zealand is very high compared to most other countries.

No, it's just that everyone else here is really old.

I really meant that as a compliment, even though it sounds messed up.

I wouldn't expect anyone, who is settled, married with children (perhaps even grown) to be exposed to that sort of lifestyle. Why tarnish a blessing? It's admirable.

Things are just very different for my generation, and probably some others...

Most of my friends have tried weed, I admit I've tried it a few times, and I think some have tried other things. I won't touch ecstasy or ice or anything like that, but I probably won't say no to the occasional (and I do mean occasional) puff of the green stuff but I could just as easily take it as leave it. In socializing it's pretty common here, even for 'old' people who are married with kids or old hippies, marijuana use is quite casual in Oz too. I'm not into the drug lifestyle or anything, but that's just what I observe.

I don't know anyone that uses drugs. I do have much appreciation for my prescribed Tramadol....it makes me function enough to live with all the damage from diabetes.
Also, I have given it some serious thought and I would like to have some psilocybe cubensis mushrooms from the local fields (if pure and unsprayed by the property owners).

I get nauseated even smelling weed, so that's a no-no for me. I have a few friends that smoke, but they know not to invite me over if they're going to be partaking with friends and they also know I don't like them smoking around me. I've lost a few friends over this, but it's not like I'm forcing them to hang out with me. It's no skin off my back if they choose weed over a friendship.

As for everything else, I did have a few friends regularly do shrooms, ecstacy and a few other drugs, but I've distanced myself from them over the years.

Right now, only 1 of my close friends smokes weed regularly and she has a prescription from her doctor for chronic back pain and it really does help her a lot. Acquantinces? Who knows...probably 80% or more.
