Nissan Tiida/Versa SL (CV, engine, compare, America)

Question: A Nissan Tiida, is it the same model being sold in the USA as a Versa SL? Seems to be the same engine, Hp and CV etc.
I have seen the Nissan Tiida's in South America but have not seen them advertised in the USA under this name.
Does anyone own one (or the other) that can give me some impressions?
I am interested in both the models mentioned above as a day-to-day car for a family member and would like to compare it with the Nissan Altima

It appears that the Tiida, Versa and Latio are basically the same car with variations for different markets.
