So, why no sub-forum for the "Hudson-Valley/Catskills?" (Albany: to live in, office)

Totally agree, the hudson vally region (orange, dutchess, putnam, rockland (parts of), sullivan and ulster county are pretty much a bourough of NYC now. The migration there has been substantial and its the 1/2way spot till albany.

I wouldn't consider Sullivan being the Hudson Valley, but rather the Catskills.
I live in Ulster and I am in the Catskill Park. As far as I know Southern Dutchess and Orange are considered close enough to NYC to allow for firefighters and police officers (who work in the city) to reside there.

Actually the NYPD and FDNY aren't allowed to live in Dutchess. The most north they can go is Putnam & Orange Counties.
There are tons of NYPD and FDNY in Warwick & Washingtonville in Orange County. I know someone who lives in Newburgh and works for the NYPD.
I'm a bit curious. After-all, there's a vast (and beautiful) region located between Albany and Westchester county.
The answer is simple. There aren't enough posts to warrant a subforum for the area. Regions get subforums based on the number of posts the area receives.
