Gaffer, i'm a big history guy..so this area seems to suit me fine I haven't really had a chance to go the battlefields and historical places yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I'm also a hunter and fisherman, and a baseball guy. I enjoy minor league ball just as much as the majors, so this place seems to be a perfect fit for me...now, if i could just find some Lonestar beer, i would be good when i say "Some" I should say "Two" because thats really been it.
Thanks Ckh, i havent found that perfect house yet..i really liked Oriskany so I'm trying to find something there.

Oriskany is nice. It has a small school district(under 1000 kids) and is in between both Utica and Rome. So, that makes sense. Parts of the Whitesboro SD(perhaps Marcy or the western part of the town of Whitestown) would allow you to live in between both of those cities, as it is a big school district geographically. Westmoreland is another area that would work in that regard as well.

If you want to be closer to Syracuse, you might want to look at areas like Sherrill(Vernon-Verona-Sherrill schools/aka Sherrill City SD), Oneida and Canastota. You would be close to the NYS Thruway and can get to Syracuse within 30 minutes, if that, from those areas. They are close to rome as well.

As for beer, you might have to try this instead: Saranac - Matt Brewing Company - Home#

I'd say it is worth it, especially if you are currently unemployed.
