Are there any open mics or lounges for poets or musicians in Pelham Bay, Parkchester, etc.? (New York: living in)

Still exploring the possibilities of living in the safer and more affordable areas of the Bronx. I'm not so much into poetry slams. I enjoy reading, performing, hosting, hanging out, and enjoying other performers in more cool, laid-back cafes, clubs, restaurants, lounges, etc.
If not, can you think of any cafes, clubs, restaurants, or lounges in these areas of the Bronx where the managers or owners might be open to suggestion? What about bookstore cafes like Barnes & Noble or Borders?
Any information or suggestions you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hey thanks, NooYowkur81. Karaoke two nights a week, an open mic once a week... Hmmm... Definitely worth exploring.
No sweat, I'm glad I could help. It's a nice place too...
