are there any actual houses on grand concourse? cause from what ive seen it's pretty much buildings co-ops complex's etc.

i'm not sure on houses actually on the concourse but the side blocks have houses in between the buildings...sometimes the block goes building, building, house, building, building.

There are more private homes at the northern end of the Concourse than probably anywhere else along its length. I take it that the OP lives somewhere near the 6 line, given his or her screen name. In that case, you might want to transfer over to the D and check out the upper end of the Concourse.

Yes, the charming thing about this area is that out of nowhere you might see a house or two wedged between apt bldgs. There are whole blocks of houses on some streets though. I'm thinking for example of Fordham Road and Kingsbridge going east toward Jerome Avenue around Reservoir Avenue etc.

The Kingsbridge area which is very close by (not to be confused with say Kingsbridge Road and Grand Concourse) has lots of lovely houses.
