douglass is not that bad. go for it. the thing about projects are, the fact that many families have been living there forever in the day, and have a history with each other, so when newcomers move in, they might not be too receptive. but douglass is not bad. i walk through, and i like how they're outfitting the outskirts of douglass as well. i'm pretty sure NYCHA has plans for the grounds of douglass as well to make it even more safer.

Can anyone tell me if metro north plaza on E.101st and 2nd ave good.
From walking streetside, I would judge them among the best. (I go between DEALS on First and the ASSOCIATED MARKET on Second at least once a week...safe and quiet with a well kept park/playground and lots of sports teams for some "good kids."
From their lowrise construction and the upkeep of the buildings you might not guess them for NYCHA.
They are reclaiming the area between First and Second presumably in anticipation of the new Subway.
The M15 gives you good North South transportation and the M96 that starts at 97th and First is a good, frequent crosstown bus.
I would have to judge Metro-North to be among the best although I have never known anyone who lives there.
Vladeck Houses is the best projects in the lower east side. F train M22 bus getting yellow cab is no problem. Police station and fire a few blocks away . East river park baseball, football, basketball, track and field park police. Super market one block away. Handball courts.24 hours stores no in close types walk in after midnight Housing police homeless unit near by.
