Hello forum member,
I am foreign graduate from india.I have interview there.as far as I have heard this area is not good for living
I have a question that Is it unsafe to that extent that I should not go there for doing residency or u can work there for 3 years if u take safety measures??
Please help me out..I m really confused
Thanks.
I only know about Bronx-Lebanon. I went there once for a job interview when I'd completed my fellowship. I have to be honest, although this WAS over 20 years ago, and maybe the neighborhood has changed, but it was very scary.
But you don't have to LIVE there. You only need to work there.
The area surrounding Brookdale hospital is not the greatest but you should have no problems working there. Just make sure that your transportation route is cool and it leaves you at the hospital and not wandering through the neighborhood looking for the hospital.
The area around brookdale is very bad and it's at least 5 blocks from the nearest subway. You would probably be okay in the daytime. At night you would need an armed escort to the train.

Why would you say something like this? OK, Brownsville doesn't exactly compare to Brooklyn Heights. But look at all the people who work at Brookdale; do you think any of them use armed escorts?
Both are in pretty crummy neighborhoods. If your driving it doesn't matter. I personally would feel safer at Bronx Lebanon, but thats just me.
