A man struck an NYPD detective over the head with a plastic stick on Monday — in a broad-daylight attack that took place as the officer was investigating another crime, according to police.
Airbourne, crime is down 10.6% but shootings are up
hate crimes are up, that's unfortunate. It seems to be related to people blaming Asians for the pandemic so it's kind of a unique circumstance
But looking at more typical crime trends we see that patrols are down 10% and way down in transit around 50% although due to the pandemic, transit itself has slowed down and cut hours
Then looking at murder, it's up a little 6%, year to date
Shootings are up as noted by the media , last year by April 18 there were 228 shooting victims and this year 364
What is your reaction to somebody who says " there's a lot of hype in the media but the shootings are in high crime neighborhoods mainly gang members shooting other gang members, it's in neighborhoods where most people dont like police anyway

so it's basically gangsters shooting other gangsters

So if you agree with that then why are you making such a big deal of this and then also moving out of Staten Island and telling everybody to leave the force? Is it all political, a pride thing? Patrols are less
and this bragging this de Blassio is doing about 200 cops being moved off of admin to patrols for the summer
people don't realize, that is routine and last year it was 300
so why are you going so bonkers?
