I've searched and searched and couldn't find the name of the buildings that were some of the most popular NYC landmarks since circa the 1920s until some time in the 70s or 80s before they were destroyed. All I know is they were near Times Square and often had Chevrolet, SONY, Pepsi or Coca Colla advertising, both the smaller building in the front and the larger one behind it had ads.

They appeared even in the iconic Mouse In Manhattan Tom & Jerry cartoon. Many old photos of Times Square showed these buildings while in the present day the opposite end of Times Square is the one most often seen. So one of the most popular landmarks has changed completely.

The smaller building was destroyed after appearing in so many movies and photos and NO ONE said anything?! I don't even find any wiki article about it. I can't even find the place on Street View today, NY looks nothing like this and I don't particularly like the way it looks today, I wish I could travel back in 1920s-1950s NYC before the decay and the following gentrification so I could enjoy it shen it was the greatest city in the whole world imo. Pls help me find the place today and info on what happened to those lost landmarks!

You know, very few buildings actually have names, and something isn't "iconic" just because it happens to be in a lot of photographs.
