I don't think they will call to ask for any changes. However, if you are selected you will need to provide current proof of income. At that time, you can add your husband's income. They will use your new income to calculate rent, eligibility, etc. You can also choose to add your husband's income to your housing connect profile now.
I'm hoping if they happen to pull up my application they would still try to contact me because at the moment I dont qualify at all with out my husbands income.
I'm just wondering if they would still contact you to see if your income changed so you would be able to qualify
Unfortunately, once you apply, you can't change your application. I learned that the hard way after also forgetting my husband for the Hunter's Point South lottery! It's important to update the application and make sure it's accurate before applying for each new building.
If you don't qualify at all without your husband's income, I think you have only a small chance of being contacted. After all, there are so many people (thousands) who will qualify, why start picking ones who don't? Your one hope would be if you are in the community board or are disabled or a city worker. Do you fall into one of those categories?
If so, you might have a chance, because those percentages have to be filled first.
Or do you have a very low lottery number? That would be in your favor also.
Have you added your husband's income now on the online application? I frequently look over the online application to see if I have the correct information on it. Sometimes you are in a hurry to send out the application and you may not double check it before sending it out. Looking it over before hand insures that you will catch any errors/misinformation.
If you don't qualify without your husband's income, you might not get called regardless of preferences. An official (working with the Hunters Point South project) told me that the city is really strict about the income requirements.
Were you sent a rejection letter? If so, it should have stated what you need to do to appeal.
