Although this sounds like a good idea I'm concerned over possible terrorist attacks in the subways, either gas or explosions. Sorry I don't place a lot of confidence in authority figures to ensure these vents would be open in case of a gas attack.
Maybe in cases of explosions the vents would be beneficial.
I don't know. We can get hit, but it's not like it's that often. I think I'd rather have the 7-line extension finished and pushed out to NJ or along the west side of Manhattan. Same with the 2nd ave line and for the east side access to be finished. The city's still growing and the expansion of infrastructure seems more worth my tax dollars.
I think with the 3 billion dollars they have, they should replace the pumps from the Panama Canal era so they can actually pump out the water necessary. Also, since it's the MTA, that project would be projected to be less than $3bn but would still be finished late and over the $3bn budget.
Ah, yes, they're willing to spend money on gadgets, electronics, surveillance, etc. - everything except more actual buses and subways, or funding to lower fares.
Just wondering where did he get the money for this?
