Mara's Homemade!!! I spent a few months in New Orleans and, trust me, this place comes REAL close - I'd say the only thing keeping it from actually being THERE is that it's generally more expensive than New Orleans food, but it's not very expensive by city standards at all (circa $15 per entree). They have quite a few different kinds of Abita - in fact, it's the only brand of beer they sell! If you order dessert, make sure you have someone to share it with, because it's heavy as hell. You can look at their menu online.

Reason: address
I'm from New Orleans and when I was in NYC this past summer I ran into a restaurant named Jacques-Imo's (same sign and everything from the one in NOLA). It wasn't the same owners-I asked- but good friends of the owner's of the original and bought the rights to the name...anyway, food was awesome just like the one from home. It's on the Upper West Side, just don't remember where exactly. And a few of the people working there went to Tulane so it was like home away from home.
Oh and NYSFT,it's craWfish, not crayfish when you're talking about New Orleans food.
