Hi! I am a PA who is looking into NYP housing (UES campus) and wanted to know if anyone has lived there, specifically Helmsley Towers? If so, how was management and how clean were the units and the building? Any rodent/roach issues? Was it worth it since the UES notoriously does not have much mass transit access and is much quieter at night than most of the city. I will be working 3x a week at 12.5hr shifts and unsure if I should choose to live on the UES and stumble home to bed after work or take the roughly 45min commute to brooklyn where I will have a bit more space for my money and would likely be able to access more of a social life on my days off.

I work at NYP and looked at a couple of the apartments in Helmsley. Outside of the price, I would have jumped on them in a heartbeat. Very spacious and beautiful. Never head any rodent or roach complaints from my colleagues who currently live here.

Thank you!! Do you know how expensive they were? I cant seem to get in contact with anyone at that office regardless of how many phone calls or emails i send. I am tempted to call the general housing dept instead of the UES campus leasing manager!

Found 1 report:

Anonymous on 06/11/2012

Tonight is my first (and hopefully last) night here. I woke up at 2am and
started to read. Then I noticed a small bug on the sheet. It looked kind of like
a flax seed, but a little smaller. When I killed it, it left a blood stain. Then
I noticed a tiny, translucent bug. I killed it and it also left a blood stain. I
can't confirm that these are bed bugs. But I looked up bed bugs on Google
images, and these look like two of the nymph stages of the bed bug life cycle.
Am having trouble getting back

to sleep :-(

A word to the wise.

I looked all over the web and it seems their rates are SECRET (other than a single mention of $250 a night back a while.)
I think you probably must call them...I'd be sitting down.
