No rendering but the original design was roughly 600 feet tall. They will be demolishing most of Steinway.

Permits Filed: 111 West 57th Street to Rise 1,200 Feet

Speculation regarding what was formerly known as 107 West 57th Street has been rampant following developer JDS’s decision to purchase the neighboring Steinway Hall, in a bid to increase the project’s air rights. Now, permits have been filed with the Department of Buildings, indicating the future tower will join the supertall club, and then some – the Steinway Tower will rise 1,200 feet and be designed by SHoP, making it the firm’s tallest skyscraper to date.

Wasn't another skyscraper near that area recently cancelled?

And all the workers will suddenly start speaking different languages.
If they don't already.

15 Penn Plaza was canceled due to political BS involving the ESB and the fact that the Hotel PA was already very lucrative which justified renovation.

Demand for primarily residential supertalls is very high, which is why it was raised to 1,200 ft (107 W 57th). A second one is planned at over 1,500 ft (225 W 57th). One57 (1,005) is wrapping up (shortest of the bunch) and 432 Park Ave at 57th St is rapidly going up (1,398).

Torre Verre was the only Midtown supertall to take a height cut (1,250 to 1,050) Not because of demand but by the Dept of City Planning due to a wanted zoning variance. Amanda Burden was against the tower due to some BS about being too tall for it s location. Meanwhile, other towers being constructed nearby are as tall or taller. A shame because I personally think Torre Verre is the best of the bunch.

It's exciting how many projects are currently under construction citywide. NYC hasn't seen this kind of development in decades, maybe ever.
