Any specific ones that is not high profile (ie. Dr. Jays, Against All Odds, Foot Locker, etc)? Kind of like a mom and pop store where the local residents come to shop? Or any forum members have a favorite store they like to shop at? Possibly L.E.S., Harlem, Washington Heights, or Midtown?

In Washington Heights look on 181st street. It's a busy area but there's alot of stores.

"Ballers" 125th street (Harlem). Cool people. Kinda small, but they will sell some things that Dr. Jays and Jimmy Jazz won't sell if your like me and you have your own style. They also carry pretty much every gore - tex shoe for that season if you are a Boot person. There is one on third ave in the bronx and I think one in Brooklyn, but I would still call it a moms and pops joint. It is the Harlem version of "Sammy's" in the BX in my opinion. Its a west indian chick that been working there at least 8 years and she will tell you the honest truth about something if you try it on (nice body too). She is not like most workers in them moms and pops stores lying for commission. I been going there since high school and I could never say nothing bad about that store.

Where do people shop on 116th street? There is a couple of small sneaker stores on 116th and lex and a new store that sell hood stuff on 116th and I either park or madison, but they are nothing special. I wouldn't call that a shopping area. Third avenue on the east side (spanish harlem) has a nice strip of hip hop stores ranging from about 113th st to like 100th st, but don't hold me exactly to those streets. That (3rd ave) strip is underrated to me for urban gear.

I cant give you names off the top of my head, but if you go crosstown to Amsterdam and Broadway and 145 there are a bunch of hip hop stores in that area. Sorry I can't give you names I did most of my shopping on 149st 3rd avenue and 125th street.

there is a street vendor on 125 called department of hood affairs. I think Big Soof is generally holding that spot down. It is just north of adam clayton powell on the west side of 125. They are the ones who put out the stop snitching shirts and such. They don't have a huge line but its a start.
