That's the reason they've gone out of their way to hire a lot of minority officers. So now you've basically got thugs being thugs only now they're doing it with a badge on.

Why do people become criminals in the first place? It's because it's a way for the powerless to feel powerful. "I can pull out this knife and get whatever I want." or "I can pull out this badge and do whatever I want." It's the same mentality.

Granted that doesn't hold up for ALL cops, not ALL of them are like that, but I have a feeling that quite a few of the ones that are abusing their stop and frisk powers think that way. They probably start off with the best of intentions like this guy in the video, but then they find out they have to do it and it just becomes part of the job and they probably even develop a taste for it and start liking it, I don't know, I'm just speculating

Umm there were lots of thugs, moreso than today, before there were any people of color on the force. You want to see real thugs talk to the old timers from the 1950s-70s, those cops were true thugs. Adding people of color to the mix did not make the police force anymore thuggish nor was there any lowering of the bar. Anyone who knows the police force prior knows there literally was no bar at all except a height requirement and a social security number..it was simply who you knew.

Here is an interesting story about cops talking about how they are anxious to go out and "violate rights"...caught on tape!
