19-Gun Cannon Salute, Fighter Jet Flyover Will Rock NYC Next 2 Days: Gothamist

Found it... Looks like a flyover for commissioning of USS Michael Murphy. Wish they would post things like this on NYC.gov

Not today, but I saw what looks like F-16 fighter jets circling over Brooklyn 2 times the last few years.
And there was one time I saw a F-117 flying very low over East River when my family was driving over
Williamsburg Bridge not too long after 9-11. I have no idea why they have F-117 in NYC, it's a stealth
bomber that can't shoot down anything.

I remember years ago when the Blue Angels were doing some training over Brooklyn before a show. My windows would rattle each time they flew over.

F-117 is a stealth fighter. Stealth bomber is totally different.

From Wikipedia: F-117A was was commonly called the "Stealth Fighter" although it was a ground-attack aircraft.

Or maybe you mistaken F-117A Nighthawk for a different aircraft? It's not a fighter jet that can
intercept other aircraft or patrol airspace, because it's not equipped with cannons or air to air missles,
the only things it carry are laser guided bombs and JDAM that's for ground attack only, it can not shoot
down any planes. That's why I was confused it was flying so low in the middle of the afternoon in NYC
at the time.

Perhaps they were surveiling a black man driving a Mercedes?

OMG, we heard it here in Bath Beach, freaking loud and annoying. Just what we need to hear on a Saturday morning.
They wrecked havoc on the whole neighborhood.
