Actually, I am attracted to the "start at Kingsbridge" Idea and than we would walk on Bedford Park Blvd in the direction of the botanical garden. Find some food anywhere and get back to the Grand Concourse and down to the stadium.
To myself, I am just on a tourist visa, but I am applying for jobs mostly around winter/spring (because I need a h1b and the usa is giving them out on february). I am an educated software developer and had a team leading/project leading position in Germany.
Of course I will pay attention where we'll be walking. Thanks for all your advices

take the D to Kingsbridge Rd. Walk north on the Concourse (but not on the side streets) to Bedford Park Blvd make a right and head east on BPB. Come down the hill to Webster, cross Webster, go a little north(bear left) until you reach the Botanical Gate. I think there is a little coffee shop on Webster and BPB where you can get something to eat then head back to the D. There is also a Bedford Park cafe or diner at Jerome Ave and BPB, 2 blocks west of the D by the 4 train
My eating suggestion over there would be Hello Mr. Pancho. It's on Webster around the corner from Bedford Park Blvd (heading south). It's a bit of a hole in the wall and tiny so is't easy to miss - but the food is great (Mexican).
If you're over there, it would be a shame not to see Mosholu Parkway - it's only 2 blocks north. Perry Ave. is the prettiest street in my opinion - it would take you from Bedford Park Blvd. to Mosholu.
Nice photo tour, bluedog. Great looking neighborhood. Not too keen on the bizarre futuristic high-rise though. For me alot of the appeal of the Bronx is the low-rise 5 and 6 story buildings. Leave the skyscrapers in Manhattan.
I e mailed my mom this link a few months before she passed, having grown up on the GC in the 170's, she was asking to see what the GC looked like in the 200's
that highrise that looks "futuristic" was opened in 1972. i don't think it looks too bad but as you get closer the surroundings of that tower are tacky, making it look less impressive than it could have been
We did our trip on sunday and it was one of the most amazing days for all of us. We startet like you recommended in Norwood 205th, got down on Perry Ave to Bedford Park Blvd, found the mexican spot and had some delicious food (Yummie!), we followed Southern Boulevard to Crotona Ave, E Tremont Ave, Webster, 170th, Grand Concourse and to the stadium...
It was a travel for all senses. Thank you for all advises and tipps...
