IS GREENWOOD NEW YORK SAFE (in particular the area near and around 4th and 5th avenue and 18th and 28th st )???
I'm about to move to Greenwood, New York in the area between 4th and 5th avenue and 18th and 28th st, does anybody know if this is a safe area?
I'm 25 and female, and I would probably have to come home during weekdays late at night, due to work.
I know that there's of course no totally safe areas anywhere, but I reeeeeally would like to avoid sure danger...
The Polish are mostly gone, but a lot of their stores and a few churches are still around the area. Eagle Provisions is still bustling and has the best beer selection in NYC.
I heard there is a Polish population there, is it true? And no, I'm not confusing Greenwood with Greenpoint.
Somewhat. Around 23rd/24th and 4th avenue especially. There's some polish delis and a church that many of the Polish population goes to.
I say the area is safe.
