I will be visiting a friend pretty soon but I live in Manhattan. I have not been to Queens or Brooklyn much, but with google maps I have mapped out more or less how I can get there. He lives in Maspeth, along Flushing Ave around the 50th streets. So I would be taking the L from manhattan and getting off on Jefferson street, then walking along Troutman all the way up to Flushing (bit of a walk, I know). Is this an ok walk in the day/night? Is the Jefferson steet L station dangerous at all? Would you suggest I take a bus instead of walking from that station? Any help would be great. Oh and I'm a hispanic male if that's relevant. Thanks again

I believe that you'll be okay. The walk along troutman will be a bit desolate but I don't think unsafe. I've been in the area a good amount of times and I've never felt threatened.

It's way better than it used to be but it's still very isolated and the area still isn't what i would consider good to do that especially at night time...

There has to be a more direct route to your friends house... Best bet from where your friend lives would be to take the L train to grand st. and take the Q54 to metropolitan ave and whatever 50s street she lives on whether it be 54th, 55th, 56th she can get off and then walk a much quicker and safe walk to flushing...

That section of Buskwich/Ridgewood is very industrial, I wouldn't recommend walking through there at night.
