I'm looking to buy a small artificial tree for my bedroom, along with everything it needs (lights, ornaments) and also needing to buy gift wrapping paper... does anyone know where in NYC I can find that for cheap? I'm not really looking to spend a fortune on this.. I live on the UES if that helps at all..

Check out some of the 99 cent stores around Manhattan, they have basic xmas supplies pretty cheap.
Some drugstores have them on sale for cheap sometimes. I know Rite Aid has these $1 bin deals and you can probably find them there. The prices will probably inflate over the next week so it's best if you get them now. Also, check out Party City. That's probably the best place where you get decent quality for good prices.
2 40-sq-ft tubes of wrapping paper
1 pack of 6 ball ornaments
3 packages of tissue paper
1 pack of a dozen velvet bows
1 2-pack of glittery bows
2 "Noel" glass decorative bowls
6 gift bags of assorted sizes
2 Christmas stockings
1 bag of 6 bagels (hey I need breakfast this week)
1 bottle of water (I was thirsty. hot and crowded in there!)
If they close JACK'S I'm moving back to New Jersey!
