I am new to the forums, but have been frequently searching the forums for apartment advice. My fiance and I are looking for an apartment under $1400 in a decent area in Brooklyn. She is transferring to FIT in the spring, but I realize Manhattan is well out of our range unless we want to live in Harlem.
I recently found an apartment on Berkeley place, which looks beautiful on google maps street view, and the price can't be beat. I was just wondering how the area is, as far as shops, restaurants, bars, etc... is concerned.

Any advice is appreciated!
The place must be very small, to go for only $1400 in Park Slope. Park Slope is very fancy and expensive and has everything you could possibly want.
$1400 sounds really low for Berkeley Pl... what avenue is it near?
In that price range, you'll have a hard time finding a place in Park Slope, but you may be able to find a good-sized studio/small one bedroom in a bordering neighborhood, like Windsor Terrace or Prospect Heights.
