HI,
My friend has to get to newark airport to catch a flight that leaves at 6:25 in the morning. Since tomorrow is sunday I am not so sure about public transport( we are in queens and have to take a bus to get to the subway). So any ideas on how to get there. Anything would be appreciated.

By asking the question I'm going to safely assume that you guys know no one that is willing to take your friend all the way over there.

Medallion cabs rarely make it out of the boroughs, so don't expect one near your neighborhood. Livery cabs are also rare during those times. So public transportation is the only way. What area in Queens are you guys at?

Is this like a "do or die" situation?

Is your friend willing to go out via public transit during those hours? If so, I can give you a detailed route how to get there, if you want...

There are some shuttle services listed here: Taxi, Car and Van Service - Ground Transportation - Newark Liberty International Airport - Port Authority of New York & New Jersey

If you want to save a few bucks, it's not that difficult if you can catch a train to midtown and then take one of the numerous options from the PA/Penn Station areas: Get Public Transit Directions - Public Transportation - Ground Transportation - Newark Liberty International Airport - Port Authority of New York & New Jersey

I took the train into Manhattan Penn Station and took the NJ transit to Newark Liberty and took the airtrain. Not that bad of a ride at all. Bought my ticket from the vending machine and it was also good for the airtrain.

Just make sure you go to the NJ transit section at Penn Station as Amtrak wanted to charge almost $80 just to get to Newark stop. Think it was $15 one way on NJ Transit. They have two trains that go to Newark Liberty. The Long Branch Line and the Northeast Corridor Line.
