There's been rumors going on for the longest time regarding the NY Islanders, and their potential relocation to Queens. Is there any validity to these rumors? Where's the timeline when they'll decide on whether the Islanders will relocate or not? Are there any recent articles which came out regarding this issue?

I also heard that Kansas City and Brooklyn are in the hunt for the team as well, I'm just wanting to know when these decisions will be made, it seems as if it's been held off for over 2 years.

Brooklyn's been constructing this new arena to facilitate the move of the Nets... so maybe they'd fit better in Brooklyn but I don't know.

Where is the alleged new arena for the Islanders supposed to be built?

Personally, it would be more feasible if the Islanders shared Barclays Center with the Nets in Brooklyn. If they build another arena in the City, it would be very difficult for all of the venues within NYC to be filled everyday.

Their lease at Nassau Coliseum expires in 2015. Wang loses so many millions a year on the Islanders. Willets Point has been discussed as a possible future home of the Islanders.

It would be awful if the Islanders moved to K.C.

I don't know about awful, but it would certainly be ironic. The Kansas City Scouts didn't exactly set the NHL on fire.
