Just wondering if anyone regularly does the reverse commute from uptown Manhattan to NJ, via the GWB? Is it tolerable, or is it like sitting in a 4-lane parking lot every morning/evening?

Also - does EZPass offer monthly discounts, or is it just pay-per-trip?

Thanks for any info.

I believe, based on my experience of driving INTO NYC every morning, that the other side going into Jersey flowed a lot faster. The bulk of the traffic in the AM is going into the city, so barring an accident, you should have smooth sailing, lucky you!
EZ pass gives you a discount per trip, not monthly if you use it, bigger discounts for "off peak" times. It also gives you a super discount if you carpool.

Thanks, SP5 - I was assuming NYC --> NJ would be lighter than the NJ --> NYC direction in the morning, but wonder if the same is true for NJ --> NYC in the evening?

I was looking at the EZPass site, and noted that you pay $6.00 instead of $8.00 for "off peak" times, but didn't find anything about a per-trip discount. Do you have a link to details (and is it just me, or is $8/day not insane)?
