I was wondering if anyone knows of a school for woodworking/furniture building in the new york city area.
I'm looking more for a school, not just a couple of classes.
Thanks for any input.

Try the industrial design programs at the major art schools. They may not all have industrial design, but Pratt definitely does (with a furniture major), and perhaps Parsons and SVA do as well. Probably all expensive!!

thank you for the advice.
But I'm looking more for a vocational school; hands on. A little cheaper than a 4-year college degree. More of a 2-year certification, apprentice kind of thing.

I found your question very interesting, so I did a little searching.

Found these: Woodworking Schools, Woodworking Classes and Woodworking Courses (Where to Learn Woodworking) @ Woodworking News

Looks as if there are a couple in Brooklyn.

Also this:

Good luck. I hope you find what you are looking for.

Hi everyone
I'am looking to study Furniture design. I am looking for 2 years schoo, but I cannot find a College which offer a AAS in Furniture Design in New York... Some one knows any one?.... I found Delhi offer Associate Ocupational Studies (AOS) In in carpentry and Building, also an Associate Applied Science in Carpentry Degree Program.but I am not sure if Carpentry and Building is the same as Furniture design..... Beside anything I want to be able to draw or make the sketch of the design . d....
