So let's say you have community preference for a particular building and you are also a municipal worker. Do the preferences combine in any way so that you are called earlier? I'm thinking no, but a friend is in this position, and it would be great if her application got a boost.

What do you think?

I feel like once the percentage of the community preference is full in that building, then your number goes back to general population and you’ll have to wait until your number is called. You’ll only have preference over people who does not live in NY state, which is the basic preference. I have CB for alot of buildings that I apply for and I always see people with no CB get called years later that has a lower log than me despite my CB preference over them and we would be in the same AMI.

No preferences don’t “pile on”. It’s either or.

I bet they don't combine but it seems as if you would be processed in each preference group--e.g., first for municipal, then, if that's exhausted before reaching you, then for CB. Then for gen pop if there are still slots left.
