We are planning to come into the city for French Quarter Festival and are looking for an inexpensive place to stay for Fri and Sat nights. We would prefer not to pay for a high dollar hotel because it will be used mostly for showering and a nap. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks.

try Hotwire or Priceline. I scored a room at Le Pavilion there for around $50 in December!

We have used Priceline before but never got anything for less than $100.

See if "A Creole House" has any rooms available. It's on Ann St., a couple of blocks from Bourbon Street (but in a quiet area). It's more of a B&B than a hotel and not flash, but extremely good value. I always stay there when in NOLA, and last time I think we paid $59 a night. It'll probably be more if there's a festival on, but will still be good value compared with other FQ places.
