About a month ago there was a Western Diamond-backed Rattlesnake listed on the "spotted on the trail" board at the Dripping Springs Visitors Center (Dripping Springs Natural Area) which overlooks Las Cruces.
I'm seeing lots of lizards in my Las Cruces yard. No personal snake sightings, though.
We have an inclosed courtyard with no openings to the outside, and yet we've found two rattlesnakes in the last two weeks. They were about 18" long. Both were very aggressive. We've seen another four or five on the road in front of the house. Just wondering what the deal is with snakes this year. Anyone else have that problem? Also, anyone know of a good rattlesnake repellent that works?
I've seen about 4 dead ones on the road in the last 2 weeks. What's funny is I never see a constrictor, non-poisonous one. They always seem to be Western diamondbacks.
This chic is really nutty, relocate rattlesnakes, dont kill them. Threat or no threat, around my house, near my house, can be seen from my house, gotta go. Yes I am terrified of snakes, but when it is a threat to my family, do what you have to do. Wildlife my behind, shouldn't have kept his or her scaly arze in the the wild. Guess you should relocate alligator if you come upon one? How about a shark if it happens to swim up beside ya? Brown snake, black snake, rattlesnake, green snake, etc, they all have to go.
The previous poster is really nutty... to resurrect a thread that is almost a year old to suggest that someone who is afraid of poisonous snakes attempt to handle them to relocate.... fangtastic idea.
