This is a two-question question, since your favorite town may be more country than city and your favorite downtown may not be part of your favorite town.
For me, off the top of my head....
Favorite town: Ruidoso
Favorite downtown area: Santa Fe
Of course Albuquerque has to have lots more then the Rest of N.M. put together so it has to be number one along with Coronado Mall of course Cotton Wood Mall in Rio Rancho is also Great. el pintada kid
I moved here a couple of years ago and I could have gone anywhere, so I guess you could say it was/is my favorite also! The main reasons were natural beauty, good climate, cheap land, and good work prospects for my wife. I don't hang out in town much though... no interest in horse racing, gambling, or trinket shops...
Favorite Town: Espanola and Las Cruces
Favorite Downtown: Albuquerque (Improvements Needed)
I'm sure Rio Rancho's Downtown will beat em all in the future!
Maybe in 20 years. Right now it is a joke. It looks like this will be the last year for the Scorpions because of moving out to the middle of nowhere. Their attendance fell over 1000 a game moving to RR. Numerous concerts have been cancelled there at the Santa Ana Star Center because no one will buy tickets to drive all the way out there. They are millions of dollars in the hole.
RR needs to build a direct access to their downtown area from I-25 if they want people to go there. I have only been there four times, and once was for a concert that was cancelled because of poor ticket sales. Getting to "downtown" RR right now is a nightmare and a headache.
