We have alot of Service folks in New Mexico {in the state and on this forum} and today is Veterans Day, to Honor ALL, the living and the dead.

Let's Thank them for their service and sacrifices in all it's forms.

If you see them on the street, at the airports, in the grocery store- Shake their hand, and Thank them! I do
If you've got one at home, Hug em
Thank the families of members deployed, they sacrifice too.

{And with all the strife I realize is going on, points of view, here or abroad, let me say: This is *NOT* a smash and bash thread. Please don't cross that line.}

Do you remember those little plastic red poppies?

Thank You Veterans, everywhere!

....and as my bro says "STFB.............."

Carry on

Tia Dalma
{Yeah, it's early, busy day here, but I'll check this thread time to time and make sure it's not, 'contaminated'! }

And...thank you for your service, Vinegaroon.

My dad is one of the few remaining WWII veterans left.

I'm surrounded by veterans here, and I love it and the military!

I not only thank them today but other days as well. When I see a military kid either in town, at the mall, or wherever, I give them a thumbs up. Tell them to keep up the good work. They appreciate it, I'll tell you that! And the vets too!

On behalf of my father, WWII and Korea veteran (now passed on) and my son, who has been proudly serving the last ten years, I thank you. I am so proud to be a daughter of a veteran and the mother of a service member!

Wonderful post folks! Thank you Vine!

I have a couple of wonderful Links for ya'll.

First is the Historical, those red poppies some of us know.

www.veteransalumni.com/in_flanders_field.html

For my Grandpa, long gone, as he and my grandma had kids late in life. Both gone now. Grandma was 85 when she died, I was but 10.
Grandpa was one of the rare ones, who survived a serious mustard-gas attack, during WWI. He was a strong cranky old cuss LOL.
Grandma always had those little red plastic poppies for us kids to wear on "Armistice Day".

And for the rest of my kin, many many who have served, all branches.
