Hi y'all. I'm a lifelong Texan who is about to transfer to my employer's Hobbs terminal, and am considering living in Hobbs/Lovington or Seminole, TX. What are the pros and cons of each town, in terms of taxes, real estate, and cost of living? I'm single with no children, so school districts are not a factor in my decision, but good churches & shooting ranges are important. Other than financial matters, are there any notable legal differences I should consider?

Is it true that Texas residents who work in NM must pay NM state income tax?

Also, is there a Mexican restaurant in the area that serves enchiladas with chili con carne instead of "red or green sauce?"

Thanks in advance.

I've just had a job offer in Hobbs. I currently live in Ohio, but have the same questions as you. Did you come to any conclusions? Thanks!

I have a friend that is from Seminole and we talk about how the enchiladas are different there and in NM. I've had the child con Carne enchilada sauce in San Antonio and that's just not appropriate for enchiladas lol, it's like putting ranch dressing on spaghetti, they just don't go together

Hey, I am about to move to hobbs for work as well, and am considering living in Hobbs/Lovington or Seminole, TX as well. Can you please let me know what you ended up deciding on and some more info about the area? Were rentals easy to find? I am a 27 year old female and will be by myself - where would you recommend as the safest place to be?

Thanks,

Jenny
