Got kids? How long you plan on being in the area? Etc. etc, etc...
They are only 60 miles apart, and there is a lot to do...

Officials say that during the fiscal year that just ended, ABQ BioPark broke its own attendance record for a third year in a row with more than 1.2 million visitors. The Tourism Association of New Mexico says that's more guests than any other attraction in the state, including White Sands National Monument and Carlsbad Caverns National Park.

No......kids are grown and gone.....just my hubby and I. We are only going to be there a week. That's good to know that they're only 60 miles apart! If you only had a week, what would be your highest recommendations?
Thanks!
Ski conditions are unpredictable if you like to ski; sometimes it's not worth the trip to Santa Fe and sometimes it definitely is.
Probably best off planning on staying in Albuquerque the whole time with perhaps a day trip or two to other magical places, Santa Fe included (though I've always considered Santa Fe to be among the darkest magic).
Another important thing we need to know is the best restaurants.....especially a tex/mex one.
Oh, please. If you are visiting New Mexico, don't even think about that Tex-Mex slop. You can get that garbage at some dumb chain restaurant just about anyplace in the country. Find some good independent New Mexican food restaurants (there is a thread about that on this forum) and eat that.

Not many tex/mex restaurants here. Either New Mexican cuisine or Mexican are the big choices. I would spend a few days in Albuquerque and a few in Santa Fe.
Places to see...
Old Town Albuquerque
Tram to top of Sandia Peak
BioPark
Nob Hill for food and shopping
Bosque along the Rio Grande
Drive up Highway 14 from Albuquerque to Santa Fe
Tent Rocks in Cochiti
Acoma Sky City
Church @ Isleta Pueblo
Canyon Road in Santa Fe
Plaza Santa Fe
Drive the Highroad to Taos from Santa Fe (lots of things to see on the way such as Santuario de Cimayo Church)
Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis
San Miguel Mission
Visit a couple of Wineries like Casa Rodena
If you golf...great courses around such as Paako Ridge and Twin Warriors

I think (hope) you mean, New Mexico cuisine... My personal favorite New Mexican Restaurants in the Albuquerque area which I have gone to many times over the past 10 years or so:
