Hi there.
Husband and I are looking to move at the end of next year and New Mexico is on our list. We are looking at Gallup and possibly Farmington. Can I get some information on both of them. Which has prettier scenery. We are wanting some land and possibly a farm. He is a chef and will need work with restaurants...wants to eventually open his own cafe.
Thanks for any help.

Both Gallup and Farmington are pretty.

You also posted to the US general forum:

> Any suggestions? Our current thoughts...rural Kentucky, ...
> West New Mexico, possibly Gallup??

Suggestion: After graduation, you pack up your car and drive
to the places you are considering and look for yourself.
It's more fun and informative.

> Places I have NO interest in...Texas, Oklahoma,
> Arkansas, or Tennesee.

You said you know all about Arkansas so don't want to go there,
but I don't understand not having an interest in Tennessee if you
like Kentucky.

Another suggestion: Drive more places than just Kentucky and
New Mexico. I recommend travel for all people who are just
graduating and who obviously have no idea where they want to be.

Default Thanks.

I have been all over Tennessee and I have been in West Kentucky and find it much prettier. Just like I have lived in Arkansas my whole life and although I find it very pretty I just want a change of scenery, but Oklahoma is right on the border of where I lived and I have been all over Oklahoma and I find it very ugly.

just my .02 cents--you do not want to move to Gallup-Farminton is not much better, for what you are wanting to accomplish-you sound like a Albq. person to me. But what do I know--Rocky

Being a native Farmingtonian, I prefer the scenery of the Four Corners area to Gallup. Aztec, Kirtland, Bloomfield, Flora Vista, and Cedar Hill all have farmland and are within a 30 minute drive to Farmington. And the area could always use more great chefs

Of the two you mentioned, Farmington is nicer.

Because of your husbands job I suggest Albuquerque, Las Cruces, and Santa Fe. Ruidoso and Taos can be considered as well but the job market will be tighter.
