South Jersey is generally cheaper than North Jersey. If you want suburbs atleast.

Probably Camden, but I wouldn't recommend living there.

Default Camden, for sure.

Ditto, without a doubt.

And actually, Newark is quite costly. Subsidized housing has pushed the rents to unbelievable amounts.

Why not first research all the towns that have community colleges?

For example, Atlantic CC is in Mays Landing, Mercer CC is between Hamilton and West Windsor, and Middlesex CC is in Edison.

South Jersey is much cheaper to live in, but you'll be out in the sticks.

This is a really broad question and you need to have a more focused question if you want to get a better response.

Answering your question literally, I'd probably have to say Camden as well. Although Rutgers-Camden and a campus of Camden County College are there, as SassyGirl said, you might not want to live there.

The main campus of Camden County College (the largest County College in NJ) is in Blackwood, which isn't too expensive, is a decent area, and not in the sticks (~15 minutes to Philadelphia).

There's the correct answer.

Rowan University, formerly Glassboro State University, is very good but not expensive, and located in Glassboro with an abundance of on and off campus living options and only about 20 minutes from Philly.
