Does anyone know of a reliable way to check on schools for a certain property? We are considering making an offer on a house in Watchung, and I am not sure which high school it belongs to - one source lists North Plainfield, another lists Watchung Regional HS. I plan to call both schools to ask, but I would like to find a more reliable way to check. Any ideas?

Thanks!

In fairness, calling the school IS the most reliable way to find out. Actually, call the Transportation Department of the school district. Give them the address. They will tell you which schools your kids will attend.
What are the two conflicting sources of the info you've gotten so far?

I can't recall, however, any addresses in Watchung that would attend the N. Plainfielh high school. Unless the property is ACTUALLY in one town, with a mailing address in the other. Watchung's zip code is 07069, and there are only a few homes, on one street so far as I know, that are in N. Plainfield but have that Watchung Zip mailing address. N. Plainfield has three zip codes, 07060, 07062, and 07063. There are probably about 50 homes in Watchung with N. Plainfield mailing addresses. In that case, it's more likely that you are in Watchung with a N. Plainfield mailing address, and your kids will probably go to Watchung. But you should call the district just to be sure.

First source was the MLS, the other was Zillow. I don't trust either... I agree with you, the Transportation department is the safest way. Thank you!
