I've just moved to Paterson and am looking for good schools for my children. They are in the 2nd, 3rd and 6th grades. I also have 1 who will start pre-k in the fall. Any suggestions?

my husband works for the Pat BOE and says Norman S. Weir is probably the best. i'm assuming you're looking for a public school, i don't know about private.

I don't know why you're "looking for schools" unless you're considering private schools. If you're kids are entering the public schools, you don't get to pick which school they go to- they go to whatever school your house is zoned to. I hope you realized that prior to moving.......

i wondered the same thing, but thought maybe she does have a choice. can't you pay to go to any school you want if you don't like your neighborhood school?

Not sure about Paterson but there are some areas where you could pick an elementary school. In Hoboken, for example, there are 3 elementary schools and you could choose any one of them.

in Paterson I do believe you can go to which ever school you choose. And also I would have to say I know nothing about the elementary schools but once your kids are in High School i suggest Rosa Parks High School which has the highest test scores in the city.
