If you are from the area then you know which intersection I'm talking about. There's a Shell gas station on NE Corner, Starbucks on SW Corner and Track/Field on NW Corner. I think the intersecting street is called Franklin Ave/Malcolm Ave. They have changed the traffic signal system sometime last year, I think, and it has gotten way way worse. Does anybody know why they changed the system to begin with? Why spend tax money to make it way worse?

Cmon the answer is OBVIOUS.

To slow down the traffic more.
Thus. People get MORE impatient.
Thus they go into lane 3 (fast lane that is supposed to go onto 46) going north.
Thus more people try to cross the tiger stripes by the diner.
THUS MORE TICKETS from the bush monkey cops hiding in the bushes around the corner...
THUS ***MORE*** more money for them.

This service has been an obvious answer provided by Captain Obvious. Your Welcome.

Actually, the signal was changed for Starbucks to encourage more people to pull in for coffee.

LOL
That's pretty much what I said to my buddy last night.
My buddy thinks that it's because of that pharmaceutical company paying big bucks in tax.

What did they do? The light at that intersection has been there for years...

They have allocated more time for Franklin Ave/Malcolm Ave traffic and people traveling on route 17 now have to sit on the red light and watch no traffic come out from Franklin Ave/Malcolm Ave. I thought that you have to do a traffic volumn study and asign time slots proportionally.
